The pilot: First German Female Racer competing in an F1 Grand Prix - in F1 H2O Powerboat Grand Prix
Simone Bianca Schuft
- I started my racing career in 2003 after racing school and racing licence. After some years in the beginner class "Formel ADAC" I moved up to Formula Mercury, national and international races, did offshore and inshore racing, circuit racing and endurance racing and gained a good reputation in the media. I was named "Miss Mercury" after being the only female pilot in the Formula Mercury class.
I was the first German female Offshore racer (in HF4S) in Great Britain, we were the only German team in UIM F4 World Championship (in 2009 in Portugal), I was the first German female pilot in Rouen (in 2010), was the first German female pilot in Class 1 (=Formula 1) in 24hrs-race in Rouen (in 2015),
and became the first German female pilot in F1 in 2018 and have been the only German pilot among 19 pilots from 12 nations, in that year, as well as 2020 and 2021.
The radioman:
Elke Hehl
- she is my eye and my ear beside the circuit. She started in 2013 to support me regularly on the radio, in that time in Formula 2, and she was nearly all over with me thoughout the Formula 1 season 2018.
The teams:
Powerboat Racing Team Schuft
was founded in 2003 by pilot and owner Simone Schuft, mainly focusing on the national races in Formel ADAC, Formula Mercury and some randomly undergone ventures on international levels under the own brand. With racing in Formula 2 we started to rent boats and teams due to costs and experience.
F1 Blaze Performance Team
is run by pilot and owner Francesco Cantando, Italy, who has nearly 30 years of race experience and he races for about 20 years in Formula 1. In F1H2O WC every team needs to register two boats /two drivers. In 2018 I was the 2nd driver in Blaze Performance team alongside Francesco.
